Dear Cooley Ranch Families,
As Principal of Cooley Ranch Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for the 2014-2015 school year. The administration, teachers, and support staff are all excited to begin this year with your children and all of the smiles and enthusiasm they bring to our campus. It is our goal to create a learning environment and school climate that is comfortable and meets the learning needs of each child. The Cooley Ranch teaching staff is outstanding and ready to work diligently to impart knowledge into all of their students. The support staff is among the best and is here to support learning by making every student feel safe and welcome. Having a strong home/school connection is critical for your child's success. As the first teacher in your child's life, we need and welcome your support and cooperation.
This year, our focus will continue on the Common Core standards. Additionally, we are excited to join other schools in our District and begin planning for a Positive Behavior Interventions and Systems (PBIS). PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. It is a systems approach to enhancing the capacity of schools to educate all children by developing research-based, school-wide, and classroom behavior support systems. The process focuses on improving a school's ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students
This year brings a few new members to our Cooley staff. We want to welcome Mrs. Star Treff to our third grade team of teachers. Also joining our staff is a new Cafeteria Manager, Mrs. Debra Vasquez, a new Counselor, Mrs. Nina Torres, and a new Psychologist, Mr. Mike Gagnon. We are saying good bye to a couple of our Cooley staff. Mrs. Robyn Moore, School Psychologist, and Pricilla Cortez, Cafeteria Manager, have moved to other sites within our District. It will be our loss and their gain as these ladies have been a vital part of our staff and we will miss them.
Last, we are delighted to announce that our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lorilee Martin, will now be at our site full-time. In the past we shared her with another elementary school. We are so excited that she will be at Cooley everyday as she brings a wealth of knowledge and much enthusiasm to our office and campus.
Again, welcome back to all and please know that we are here to serve you-families and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office at (909) 580-5023.
